Privacy Policy & Terms of Service
Effective: April 1, 2026
The short version: DharmaMonk runs entirely on your device. We don't collect your data. We don't track you. We don't even have a server to store anything on. Your reflections are yours alone.
Nothing. Zero. DharmaMonk does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. There are no analytics, no crash reporters, no usage tracking, and no telemetry of any kind.
DharmaMonk is a Buddhist reflection and insight companion powered by a large language model (LLM) that runs entirely on your device. Your conversations, reflections, and insights never leave your phone. There is no cloud processing — every response is generated locally, in the palm of your hand.
The app makes a single network request when you first set it up: downloading the language model from a content delivery network (CDN). After that initial download, the app functions completely offline. No data is sent anywhere, ever.
There are no user accounts, no email collection, no sign-in flows. You open the app and begin. That's it.
We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. No SDKs watching what you do. No ad networks. No social media trackers.
Any data the app creates — conversation history, preferences, saved reflections — lives solely on your device in the app's sandboxed storage. If you delete the app, that data is gone. We have no copy of it, because we never had access to it in the first place.
Since we collect no data from anyone, we also collect no data from children. The app is designed for general audiences seeking mindful reflection.
If we ever change this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above. But our core commitment is simple and unlikely to change: your data stays on your device.

By using DharmaMonk, you agree to these terms. Please read them with the same gentle attention you'd bring to your practice.
DharmaMonk is a companion for reflection, contemplation, and exploring Buddhist wisdom. It uses an on-device language model to offer insights, prompts, and perspectives grounded in Buddhist teachings and mindfulness traditions.
DharmaMonk is not a substitute for professional mental health care. It is not a therapist, counselor, psychiatrist, or medical professional. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or emotional distress, please reach out to a qualified professional or contact your local emergency services.
The responses you receive are generated by an artificial intelligence model. While the app draws on Buddhist wisdom and contemplative traditions, its responses are not reviewed by ordained teachers, monastics, or mental health professionals. The app may occasionally produce inaccurate, incomplete, or contextually inappropriate responses.
Use your own discernment — as any good teacher would encourage you to do.
DharmaMonk is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. We disclaim all warranties including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developers of DharmaMonk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app, including but not limited to reliance on any content or guidance provided by the app.
DharmaMonk, its design, code, and associated materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes as intended.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We'll update the effective date above when changes are made.
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict of law principles.
